HUSZTI dental care
Many residents of Highland and Milford know the Huszti Dental Building standing proudly at 1800 N. Milford Road. But only those who take advantage of the services offered at Huszti Dental Care know how unique it is inside.
The building began years before its 2002 opening when Drs. Bill Huszti and Anna Chong-Huszti understood that the practice they bought in Highland was growing quickly. They wanted to make their mark on not just the community they love, but in their chosen field. They wanted their new office to reflect the forward-thinking education they received at Detroit Mercy Dental, where care for the whole person is evident not just in the way future dental practitioners are taught, but in how those graduates treat their patients.
It started with the site. Just a mile north of downtown Milford, it has the feel of the countryside. The Husztis told their architect they wanted to minimize the anxiety patients feel when visiting the dentist, and take advantage of the rural beauty of the site.
“Calming” and “friendly” are the two words many patients use to describe the feeling when they walk into the practice. And that’s by design. All patients look out on nine acres of protected wetlands where majestic sandhill cranes and other animals make their home, wildflowers provide bright splashes and the greens of summer and the fall colors make for an ever-changing view. The great outdoors is brought indoors further through framed photographs featuring the natural beauty of Kensington Park taken by Milford legend Ted Nelson.
One thing patients won’t see from their chairs are the dental instruments. Research shows that many patients get nervous simply seeing the tools that will be used in their dental care. They are displayed behind the patients, but in easy reach of the hygienists and the dentists. Patients tell us they appreciate this detail.
Sometimes the sound of a drill, even when it’s in another part of the building, can cause stress in patients. That’s why we invested in iPads, iPods and Beats by Dre headphones: Just plug in and you’re listening to whatever you need to distract you. This feature also makes those old jokes about “dental office music” obsolete!
Of course, no matter how beautiful a place is, it’s the people that make it truly special. Bill and Anna take great care in choosing the members of their team. They’re chosen not just for their expertise and for their way with patients, but for that special something you know only when you see it. Each member of our staff has it and it shows in the way they provide care. We know our patients appreciate it because they include us in their life celebrations from birthday parties to weddings.
We hope you will make an appointment to come visit us. We’d love to show you your new home for dental services.
